Without further ado, Pen friend is the topic i want to talk about. I was still in school learning when I was introduced to this term. Pen friend for those who dont know , A pen friend (pen pal) is someone you become friends with by exchanging handwritten letters, postcards or messages, usually while living in different cities or countries.

Pen pal is better than those friends who wear facade mask everytime!.

I found it really interesting. My school was bit of mix where rich were entitled and thought all others were not their match. I myself tried to fit in but couldn't and after sometime when they begged me to be part of their class/group i refused. Because i am not that kind of person who behaves rude and discriminates others based on how much money they have, what grades they get in exam or even how they look

I know somehow I survived that school . Very Grateful that I didnt change or got influenced by those ungrateful brats. Anyway so Pen friend was something really close yet so far for me. I had my first Pen friend from Germany. We shared so many things be it daily routine or just how we felt. And thats how I persuaded myself to never stop writing. I sent mails, even handwritten letters and it made me feel so special to get that one notification or a letter from her .Germany 🇩🇪 India 🇮🇳 are not close but I was proud to have someone I can call a friend. My first foreign friend.

As time passed , we both grew up and grew distant. Everyone and everything changed. Once there was a time where Pen pal was a cool thing, it was exciting to have a pen friend but years later that same thing got so ordinary or so I thought. We did eventually lost touch, both changed emails , phone numbers even houses and that was closure of my relation with my Pen pal.

Cut to, 6 years from that day and I found one more PEN FRIEND. He was my colleague whom I worked for and I left company after a few years. He did reach out on my personal email and thats how we started being each other's Pen friend. Today i realized , how much of privilege it is-

1. People dont have time for each other even if they live in the same house.

1. Pen friend makes waiting for a reply exciting and also asks us to be patient since he/she ain't near you nor in your country or may different continent and timelines.

2. Email like Gmail is not accessible there so no, my Pen friend uses some other .com mail to update me.

3. I can be myself as I know there is no judging , I express better.

4. He likes my culture and I like his so we share a traditional bonding ruled with learning from each other.

What else do you ask for? I mean, yes you need to wait for a reply or letter but other than that you learn to accept the situations better. In this world where we have 4g, 5g , 6g and AI who claim to be fastest source of communication and information.

I am happy to wait a little while to know my Pen friends well being. I want to get know their festivals through pictures he/she clicked by himself and not created by dumb bot/robot.

Lets remain rooted and reimagine what is power of patience and how much privilege we have in life!

Let me know in comments , I would love to hear your feedback and also about your Pen pals/friends if any.

All the leading cities of world have praised and welcomed these huge constructed towers as an integral part of development while neglecting to nurture the Nature . They acknowledge it by granting even more access - just to ensure city has value and status quad pro in this ever-changing society. We believe, we can reach the sky but has anyone asked the sky does it need you to invade . Aiming for higher is one of basic human nature but have you noticed the change in norms and behavior pattern while achieving same.

Higher the tower , taller the Egos residing!

People occupied those spaces with insane amount of debt and started feeling superiority. Yes , its an achievement but not at the cost of being less human to underprivileged.

Skyscrapers helping humans be on 7th Cloud all the time!

One needs keep their feet down, be humble as we still stay on Earth who has Gravitational pull to make sure you remain on the ground. But people in half beliefs embrace the inconvenience and aim higher just to make sure to put their So-Called in their place and maintain a class in the Society.

I live in Pune , Maharashtra India. Pune is known for its slow living . I like it here because i love to see buildings of less height than the tallest trees.

In some areas, we do have skyscrapers. They indeed are very aesthetically pleasing and also provide space for many offices and overall development. But i still prefer less than 5 or 7 storey buildings. Big and small Row houses engulfed with lush green gardens , alley and the best AQI ever possible. Last 10years , Pune has changed for the better if honestly if you ask me I would still prefer the Pune with less SKYCRAPERS and more TALLER greenery over anything irrespective of the development the Government plans!.

I am proud to be Supporting the SLOW LIVING. There are at-present many communities whose interest solely focuses on Slow living. Personally, a fan of not participating in this race of who buys a bigger house / apartment or has view to die for.. I am more about living life as it comes. Being in close with your roots , always appreciating the resources nature has provided us.

Leading simple life with no finish line and stopping and staring the moment in present to align myself with Environment and Universe!💯🧿😇✨️

Dear Bestie

We have known each other for more than 6 years now.

Still it feels so much more. We connected over studies and grew together to grab that Degree.

Graduation was over and so were We.

We gradually had distance and miscommunication replace our bond.

I hope you are doing good both health and work wise

I miss us

I miss you

I miss those days!

Adulting is such a trap.

I saw you change cities even countries for education. I am still in my city waiting for a reunion.

I hope and wish you miss me a little too. You have such a cool life , very independent and so many friend groups. I admire your courage and will always adore you for how you have changed in upcoming days.

But

It still hurts ,

Hurts when efforts are only one sided. You didnt have time I understand. But you gave your time to someone else. That hit a nerve which was hidden deep within. I am all about making new friends but i had hope you would not replace the ones you already have.

Yes , we are growing up …

Its part and parcel of life where People come and go. I know you are very Mature but I hoped that this maturity would not have divided us if you had taken some effort.

A clap is called a clap after touching palms of two different hands so i am not always correct to blame you . But friendship must be reciprocated if you want it to last long and i just got exhausted doing it all alone .

Wherever you are , be happy and always remember I'll be rooting for your success💯😇

Yours Truly

Aishwarya M

( extroverted soul of the batch )

But is she understood? ,

In a group setting ,

She is the most talkative person.

Never has a small talk

But has anyone taken her up

For a walk!

All assume herIto be always lively

But ignore her timely.

The ones who were inspired , motivated by her two- twenty kind words --

Looking for excuses and calling her Hopeless Nerd.

In her captive room she has sat ,

Thought about your actions but still ,

Managed to give you a smile as reaction.

Noone knows how to detect her fake smile

She wishes to atleast have a day where

She can share all her vulnerable thoughts while riding miles.

Will anyone care enough to make that effort

One day she will change and make clear boundaries for herself to make her own

Stable

FORT .

The Fort where one listens to her without being judged ,

Making conversations defy all her insecurities!

A Fort of being heard of , valued of

Just being a Human who loves to share

Who loves to talk !

Nothing more and Nothing less.

Decision making is one of hardest skill known to human being. But it depends only on two factors which are - is the decision made by heart or by the brain.

I want to talk on this matter because its really sensitive. Brain is wired and can be trained , all of your education and degree you hold is courtesy to your brain. So all the decisions made by brain are always practical and best for you in some situations.

Why i said some situations , let me tell you

Yes , brain takes decision by giving reasons and heart is all about emotion. Both are right in their way. But situations are not the same.

That's why sometimes , you will take decisions based on what your heart says is correct.

Irony - Both organs are equally important for a living being but one still has to choose one!

Life is all about ups and downs . You may be at the top by taking all the practical decisions in your life but you won't be satisfied as heart had advised otherwise.

You may be doing things according to your heart all the time but still never change your situation as the practical decision was compromised.

That is why its necessary to find a balance.

Hope you rise and reach new heights all thanks to your brain while maintaining all your heart needs!

Today, I wanted to express something very close to my heart. Yes, just as the name suggests , “ Eye contact” way of communication.

I am very old fashioned in this perspective and i think making Eye contact is real flirting. I know and well aware of all the new ways of dating phases but still feel contacting through eyes only has its own spark .

The art of eye contact can get you close to a person be it a colleague, acquaintance , neighbor or just any stranger you might find attractive. The spark i mentioned about Eye Contact is not about stalking its mostly about communication without words . Telepathy is similar but in telepathy you already know what you are supposed to do or want . Here , we are sometimes greeting , acknowledging or just giving an approval and green signal .

His/her holding your gaze is so sexy in a way. At a club , a fine dine restaurant and even on crosswalk just walking past each other eye contact holds a special place in your memory.

Maybe you don't meet that same person again but you can easily remember him/her in your memory after you close your eyes and if it left a mark in your day.

Words are easily misunderstood, making Eye contact will always remain harmless. Make no mistake I am against stalking and staring too long if other person is not comfortable.

As stated , you should be able to make eye contact such that other person is intimated. My move will always be sharing a contact and then not making Eye but stealing glances every other minute.

What your move? Do let me know in comments.

Haven't all of us heard the above advice or believed in it. I know , the answer is yes and it is also great advice to follow.

But today I want to focus on the opposite. I want to be ordinary consciously. Its not a crime to be average. All of our socials and those influencers have influenced us to be certain type - have a life which is full of adventures , travels and also to build something at younger age.

I respect them , they have achieved so many things in life but it also creates a pressure.

Pressure to be extra in extraordinary. Yes I am in my latest 20s and have fairly achieved something as big as an influencer or anyone that I follow. They all motivate me to grow and also to take the risk but sometimes I feel its too much for me.

Everyone has different path and their life , choices are something which they choose or force to which only the person involved is aware of. I feel its ohkay to be ordinary.

If you are still living in your parents house it is ohk , if you have average grades and worried about your future I want to tell you it is ohkay as with time you will figure it out.

It is absolutely fine if you dont have those cool friends who party every weekend and buy expensive items for birthdays .

For me , being average and ordinary is absolutely a luxury. I am driven and ambitious but i dont want to fall in the race of some influencers as I am not them. I believe they have had their troubles and I have mine .

I am happy and content with the life I have right now. I am not wasting my 20s but living it.

Yes , I am not extraordinary person .

But

I hope everyone who has read knows your worth and loves their lives as I do! Its extraordinary to be ordinary . 💯😇

To my delight, - this Time was so slow sometimes even frustrating as nothing to do or nowhere to go and Noone to talk to is Scary.

This version of me has helped me understand many things. Some of my learnings are

1. Good things take time . Yes, I gave the time and thought it was endless until I understood why the time had to given .

I forgave myself , - what only time could teach me!.

Read above sentence twice to let it sink in you.

1. Slowing down things and not following a routine is ohkay. Yes , we all are thriving and hustling for next big thing or next big goals to achieve in life . So this time when I was slowing down and had nothing to do , I found myself living freely. I even explored new hobbies like art , joining supper club , puzzles to name a few.

You are never too late in your race of life.

1. Focus on yourself . Yes, this is so underrated. We all in the corporate world are always finding ways to make our lives better and earn more than we already have. We all forget to focus on ourselves. So during this time , I focused on myself by giving myself space - rethinking my options , prioritizing sleep and doing things I like or which make me happy.

You are main character of your story.

Lastly but not the least, I am proud of myself .

I have many versions of myself which i had to outgrow from , learn from , accept from to be what i am today.

It is not a easy thing , everyone who is struggling I hope you achieve the best version of yourself as soon as possible.

I genuinely believe i am nothing without those fragments of pieces which I have to go through in every phase of life and many more to come to become a better version of myself everyday!

Have become so friendly .

Its bigger than the day ,

Sometimes helps finding way .

The silence of the night speaks so loud ,

Heard even by the cloud .

Clear thoughts are so far ,

Diving away with great pace ;

Leaving me alone to face .

Trying hard to find all pieces ,

Before all of it ceases .

Light is nowhere seen

Until i reach the beam

Beam of unforgettable mistakes , decisions ,memories which donot fade even in the dark ,

Because they have already left within you a much deeper mark.

Scar or mark whatever you call ;

You have to go ahead inspite all odds ,

You have to have faith in the lords .

The game can twists and turns

All that matters is how strong you stand after all the burns .

For me , that is taking a break to take a breath!

If you look closely , Taking a break is a normal thing which is criticized by society.

For example - He took a break from his Job because of his family situations.

She took a break to prioritize her health.

The child took a break from his study to avoid overcrowding of knowledge.

Each and every situation mentioned above is judged or frown upon. Have we forgotten that we are all HUMAN BEINGS ! not robots .

In an interview, your break defines you more than your previous experience. For a woman, if health is not maintained she is considered unfit and ignored maybe even neglected after sometime. For children, if he/she rests is considered lazy or giving an unnecessary attitude.

I believe this is wrong .

Maybe taking too long of lunch break or taking undue advantage of notice period can be some of perks of being on break.

But mostly it has every thing to do with resting your mind for sometime , resetting yourself to go through yet another day at your job or just maybe to distract yourself to focus better after taking a break.

As of now

Noone , I mean Noone should be ashamed to take a break and go on a small vacation or give a good read before going back to your regular routine .

Search the beauty hidden in yourself and contemplate on everything you need to while you are still alive and can take a break !

But that i mean , in our Culture , Coffee is a drink served to guests as a gesture and warm welcome. Our culture also has helped us discover different types and ways of Coffee making.

Coming back to our work , at Work Coffee plays a distinct role of keeping you awake , focused or maybe just gets you going.

For me , Coffee is an Experience

Its the time to unwind , enjoy its flavor, savor it without any rush . The places where I tend to have my Coffee changes according to my mood and I am quite fond of it.

Yes its expensive sometimes and sometimes just the need of the hour at a small snack stall.

I enjoy every version of it ,- expensive or not ; brewed or not .

Today it got me thinking something in this way

Yes , Coffee with your person . Could be anyone ,- Friend , bestfriend , lover , father , mom , sibling . I think it adds even more value to just a cup of Coffee .

I sometimes do feel the need to vent out or just sit with my thoughts and if I have someone i can share a cup of Coffee with then I think

This is the LUXURY in life.

Now, I know books do the similar thing or maybe more than that. But being an extrovert at heart - Having conversations over Coffee is soul favorite.

In life , we all have faced many difficulties and through all that if you have found someone to share or just have you listened to over a cup of coffee you have Won in life.

Yes , I am aware of the debate of Chai and Coffee. But right now the sweet- bitterness and quick awake sensation of Coffee is Healing for me.

What is Coffee for you?

You must be assuming I might have a lot of friends but its not the case .

Let me tell you why,

I am a person who gives in 100% effort thinks now he or she will be my bestfriend sharing things , expressing each other and being vulnerable with each other.

But sometimes its not reciprocated the same . Because the other person is in different frequency . They might have other friends who are close . Seeing or witnessing that broke me a little.

But as I said, soon people were replaced as I grew older .

Now I thought the situations will be in my favor but no they still chose to leave me or be close with someone else. I started thinking

Maybe

I am the problem and that broke me even more.

As I was still moving on from this pattern I came to this realisation that I might be broken but it doesn't mean I have no value .

Have you heard of Japanese art KINTSUGI

Let me tell you its an art of repairing broken pottery. If you search the same you will see some broken pieces of crockery fixed together with gold simmering in between. It makes the pottery even more intricate.

As an Adult now , I may be broken in relationships but i am a beautiful person within.

Let this be a reminder to everyone , your value doesn't depend on others .

It can have cracks , its never perfect but still beautiful in its own way.

I learned this the hard way. I thought I was being kind to someone but instead all they heard is I am mocking them because I am privileged .

Trust me , i am not privileged i work hard and try my best to whatever i want. No offense to privileged people but working hard and then buying what you have wanted for a long time is different cool.

I got all the hate and evil eye for being Too kind to almost everyone. Recently , i am Nothing

it feels like I have achieved nothing .

Maybe I should have not been too kind .

I think maybe i should have been selectively kind is thats a thing.

Maybe i should not treat everyone as equal because some people just dont deserve my kindness.

Maybe I will stop being taken for granted by all

Maybe I will stop being too kind for all.

Being too kind is equal to being taken for granted .

Human beings are a complicated beings to ever exist. One may think that he/she has clearly stated their opinion but that can be interpreted differently. Its the beauty of it since not everyone thinks same and anyone is allowed to interpret the way they want.

Freedom is inevitable when a mind is allowed to spar with different meanings. Love is one such situation, men and women think so differently when it comes to interpretation of LOVE as an , Emotion.

Sarcasm is a forbidden fruit of Interpretation.

Being Sarcastic is cool for many but not to be taken for granted. Sarcasm can be harsh on some who tend to take everything on themselves.

We live in a world full of so many different languages which are translated yet can be feel connected.

Music is such aspect which interprets so many emotions almost perfectly be it in any language.

We live in a Era of Technology but still fail to recognize or interpretation what one might be going through.

Facade is friend and foe of misinterpretation.

They say , bond becomes stronger after a fight but if you understood the scenario in first go maybe there wont be any misunderstanding in the first place .

There lies a fine line between saying the truth or telling half lie. Interpretation maybe one think which makes overthink always .

Interpretation may be curse or blessing.

She is someone who always plans ahead of time. She is someone who is ready all the time.

Some stacks and some racks are full of every memory She experienced .

But somehow ,

She likes the simple and minimal slim gold bangles .

She likes abundance in readiness, but simplicity in appearance .

“ Yeh Jawani hai Deewani “ a 2013 film , most of us atleast Indian viewers are a fan or have watched atleast one time. So many articles have intercepted all the lessons and story the film wanted to portray to its audience

But what I want to highlight here is the phase of REWATCHING. I was probably in my teenage years and watched the film . Enjoyed the story and loved the main characters . But if you ask me today, i know that i dont like the main characters as much. Yes, you all guessed it right “ADITI” is the new main character.

What impressed me then during my first watch was the plot. After rewatching my perspective is not the same. Even though , i have the same eyes - the mindset is different , the lens through which i revisited one of my favorite movies is different.

Does this also happen to you?

Watching a new movie together is a date idea. But if you ask me , revisiting the older one is more intimate.

Aditi - as described by Naina’ s mom is a wild girl at heart but she changed and matured with time .

A message to you - Thankyou for being so real and also giving such a simple lesson which i know i would never forget .

Lesson was

“ सिंपल है... कुछ लोगों के साथ सिर्फ वक़्त बिताने से सब कुछ सही हो जाता है “

Translation

“ Its simple ..just spending time with some people makes everything right! “

Overthinking the name itself has over in it. Thinking is great for a good outcome/conclusion

But Overthinking is mess of all of pros . The reason I may call it a blessing is because one thinks from every angle. Even though it has many cons to it in reality.

I myself am an Overthinker , grasping all the negativity in one go. Pressurising my small brain over little inconveniences. Its a pity I know , but i cannot help it. Maybe there are many like me. Just like portrayed in the picture its mess of all the strings and situations.

Its hard to overcome . But those who do overcome Overthinking lead to a positive approach. I think we all want the same. Its inevitable at times , but it must stop affecting oneself from all its side effects . ANXIETY mother of overthinking is waiting for one chance. We all fall pray for it some or the other time in Life. Its not a foul play but just a mechanism of your brain. It needs peace all the time but doesn't get any. Taking care of Mental health is a priority in recent times . I completely agree since its part of Health .

Overthinking has a root cause . When you find it , its easier to be dealt with. We often forget the root cause while overthinking and over analysing the situation. We all have heard, “Opposites attract each other” . So mostly and Overthinker friend needs a Sorted practical friend to see things clearly . Its easier said than done . I know , cause I struggle a lot with friends in general. But just sitting Alone by myself at my safe space also calms my Overthinking nerves. If you dont have a safe space yet I hope you find one.

Let's all pledge to not overthink and live life here and now!

Physically pains are my favorite. They might last long but dont drain . Mental pain is unseen and undiagnosed. They often create Voids .

Unspeakable, unresolved, feelings create gaps in memory. A void can be a collection of those gaps .

They say, Time heals everything eventually.

But i believe it just suppresses or makes one forget what created that mental pain in the first place.

Therapy is a way of coping . I absolutely agree since it has helped many to overcome all that they have been through. But its not the solution.

I am concerned of those times when i get reminded of trauma. All the disappointment , disgust runs back through the cracks of void .

So i am in search of a seal . A seal to seal all the gaps and voids of past. All the scars that it have cast.

I believe i will find it. To make sure that just like Japanese make broken but beautiful cutlery. I can also make heal myself.

Yes, you read that correct. We have often heard everywhere , follow a routine - change your lifestyle , make sure you have a list.

But is that a necessity. Do all the people who follow a routine are happy and satisfied ? Well , we all know the answer. We all need and deserve a break. Break from that routine we follow , it is exhausting . Routines are not all bad , they do shape the best version of us. But since we are not Robots we need a reset. Resetting the mindset for the better . Maybe, call it a Reboot for ourselves. I , myself was stuck in too deep of work routine. It felt like endless cycle and even though it wasn't that exhausting I felt burnout.

For the longest time , I struggled to figure it out. Burning out happens to many but for me I felt its too soon. Maybe I was just lazy or excusing myself or just not cut out for the work I was in. It felt stuck in a hole without any light. My life has always been a average one -

one step after another. So taking a break was something not in my list. But i still did or I had to as it affected me in more ways than I could have imagined.

Through this journey , I learnt the importance of having a routine as well as not having one

My life didn't end because I am on a break. All the people who care for me still cared , loved and respected my decision . Trust me , it was not easy. But yes I will admit now i feel so much lighter . And I would like to encourage each and everyone who felt the way I did to just go on that trip or have a peaceful weekend by yourself because YOU DESERVE IT.
