What works? What doesn’t? Why did this work? What should we do next?

With every decision we make for our clients, we’ll never truly know the outcome until afterwards, but we will have an idea of the probabilities of the outcomes. Let’s take an example from our call, let’s say we have a pitcher who has 70 degrees of ER on the lead leg, but only 10 degrees of internal rotation. That’s a pelvis on the front side that’s going to encourage a lot of glove side movement. Is every single pitch going to be on the outside corner? No. But it definitely tips the scales that the ball will be heading in that direction.

Keeping both the shape of the individual in mind as well as the task gives us a greater ability to If they’ve been using a particular strategy for long enough and with enough force, we can start to see changes to the shape of boney structures. In long bones, (tibias, femurs, radius, etc.) these changes often times show up as torsion, one part of the bone is rotating into IR faster than the other end. More often we’ll see the distal end create this strategy simply because it’s closer to the site of the force application.

In this call we cover common strategies we’ll use to recapture some of the ERed shape of the distal tib/fib and hand/wrist.
