Other times I know I'm more from a nightmare, trying to escape.

That the life I’m living is just a joke

That the dreams I'm dreaming are nothing but illusions of a nonexistent mind that loses itself in rememberance and in the lust of the waves of this sea.

But I don't want to wake up.

The day he left, the seas grew furious,
sweeping away the coastal towns.

The day he left, the earth roared and split open,
releasing torrents of lava from its veins.
People held a moment of silence,
while lepers gathered their fallen flesh from the ground.
The dolphins and whales sang so loudly
that the sea broke apart.

THE DAY HE LEFT, THE EAGLES STOPPED THEIR FLIGHT TO DEVOUR HIS BELOVED TIGERS.

The day he left, pregnant women miscarried,
and the blind had their eyes fall out.
The deaf inserted needles into their ears,
and the armless severed their feet.
The elderly women shaved their heads
and tattooed their stomachs.

In hospitals, EUTHANASIA was performed on all the COMATOSE.

The day he left, war ceased and the world stopped spinning
The moon caught fire,
and children with sarcoma devoured their diseased skin.
Vineyards rotted and rivers overflowed.

The day he left, colors turned to gray
and the sun stopped shining.
Tears fell and turned into acid.
and worms gnawed at my skin.

THE DAY HE LEFT, A PART OF MY SOUL LEFT WITH HIM,
and my eyes burst into tears,
my heart gave way beneath an unbearable ache,
and my feet sank into an endless sea of sorrow.

The day he left, I realized I love him far more than I had imagined.

(Shouldn’t really have been watching that, but I did.) Of course, there was The Munsters, Count Duckula, Boris Vallejo’s Illustrations and the book Ma and Pa Dracula, which I still love to this day. But back to Fright Night, it was pretty shocking at that age. The makeup, even though very exaggerated, scared me and made a huge impression on me.
Jerry Dandridge was another one of my dark crushes, of course. XD It’s bizarre to think about it now, considering I wasn’t even a teenager and he was, according to the lore, approximately 1,000 years old. I’ve always had a thing for slightly older men. XD I remember trying to catch the movie on TV behind my caregivers’ backs just to see that scene where he closes the blinds with his long-ass vampire claws. It definitely gave me some very early tickles. XD

And then there was Evil Ed. The cool, creepy-silly sidekick and Charley’s best friend, who got turned into a vampire by Jerry. It was generally the nice best friend, the nerds, the clowns, the outcasts, and the weirdos who were sacrificed for the sake of the story. Writers back then almost never considered doing that to the popular kids. Our kind has been bullied since the beginning of time, even in the fantasy worlds of movies and books. I’m not really complaining, though. It made me the fabulous witch-bitch I am today, and if it weren’t for that, well… I wouldn’t be sharing this drawing with you all today. XD

I know my series is about vampire children and Ed is a little bit older, but it’s hard to find good vampire movies with interesting vampire child characters.

Anna, a little ballerina, trapped by the person who was supposed to love her most. Sometimes, people who want what they believe is “best” for us can end up shattering us instead. Having experienced a toxic relationship with a blood relative myself, this one really struck a chord with me. 🖤

And how to forget that jump scare scene when he wakes up and bites Mike? Ugh, I don’t know about you, but I definitely got scared.
I’d say Salem’s Lot is one of the best vampire movies when it comes to creepy vampire kids.

Since Substack doesn't let me post more than 10 pics and 1 video per article, I decided instead to post some notes, hope you don't mind clicking on each one to see the process… I really appreciate you all being here and taking time of your day to see and support my work. 🖤

Some years ago I started this project with just a tiny house and eventually, it turned into a whole diorama town inspired by a mix of history and Salem TV show.. 😅

As the project started coming together, the idea of turning it into a little short film came up. wrote the story, and together we brought it to life with a video that you can find in the last note. 🖤

I hope you enjoy getting a little peek behind the scenes and seeing how this whole project came together. It took me a couple of years, way too many tiny details, and probably an unhealthy amount of patience 😂, but it was such a fun project to make.

This project was created with a great deal of respect for the history and the real events that took place in Salem. There’s no intention behind it beyond exploring and recreating that world through an artistic lens. 🖤

I wonder if this is my hell, or my death.

The days go by, it’s dark and rainy out there. But I do nothing but pass the time, until I can finally see you again. In here, the house is falling apart and the memories consume me.

Not a day goes by without me thinking of ~~suicide.~~ Not a day goes by without me remembering you. Not a day goes by without me wishing I were with you, or wishing I could change places. What about your life for mine? What about me dead instead of you?

I wonder where you are now...

And why I no longer hear lullabies at bedtime. Nor harmonious whistles in the mornings.

This room is very small. I am very small. I feel like I died several years ago. I am stuck in this moment forever. There is no future, only the present, passing and passing. And my memories.

The house is falling apart. And all my dreams fall from the ceiling, leaving rubble everywhere.

Hello everyone!

This time, I want to share with you this super duper cute Mandrake root I made! Mandrakes or Mandragoras, are little magical roots from folklore, traditionally believed to have protective and mystical powers. The real plant, Mandragora autumnalis, is actually highly toxic and contains hallucinogenic compounds, which probably helped give it its mysterious and magikcal reputation. I’ve wanted to make one for so long, and I finally decided to give it a try! 🖤
Hope you enjoy this little making of! Maybe it’ll inspire you to make your own! They make such a fun decoration for witchy homes, Halloween, or just for adding a bit of magick to any space. The ingredients to throw into this magickal cauldron are easy to find, you probably already have most of them lying around the house! And if you don’t, you can really use anything you have on hand: scraps of fabric, sequins, thread, flour, rope, jars, tiny branches, paper, acorns… I mean, anything goes! This is just how I made mine, but feel free to use whatever you have and make it your own. :D That’s the magick of crafting! 🖤

I started by sketching real quick some Mandrakes.🖤

👇 And here are the ingredients I had around the house:

White glue · cotton · tin can · fabric scraps · jute rope · acrylic paint · wire · floral tape · brush · small dish for mixing glue with water and mixing paint colors

I started by shaping the wire into a really basic form, wrapped some wires at the top to attach the leaves later. And then I added some strands of jute cord around the legs to create the roots.

Then I wrapped the structure with a little bit of cotton and secured it with diluted glue. I shaped everything with the brush. This part can be a little tricky because it gets very sticky, so be patient and work layer by layer. 🖤

By this step, I completely forgot to take pictures or record that part! 😅 So here you can see the Mandrake already painted. I used brown and ochre for the base and finished it with some grungy golden touches. ✨ I must warn you, when you first lay down the brown color, it looks a little like a turd XD But it gets better eventually, I promise. Don’t worry about it! Haha. 💩😂

I cut some small leaf shapes. For the front, I used the scrap fabric, and for the back of the leaves, I used floral tape to cover the wires and give them a cleaner finish. I glued everything together with silicone glue.

Once I finished with the leaves, I glued a little red bead into the Mandrake’s hands, for a pop of warmth and color, besides, every little Mandrake needs a tiny bit of enchanted treasure to hold, right? 🧙‍♀️

And then, once again, I completely forgot to take pictures! 😅 But you can see this part in the video. I cut a circle to use as the background for the tin can, and then wrapped the rest with jute and rope.

To finish it off, I added a little ribbon around the can with some magickal words written on it. 🖤

And voilà! One magickal Mandragora, all finished and ready to guard your home from any unwanted spirits. ✨🌿🖤

I leave you with the second part of my ongoing and never-ending series, Home sweet home.
This series of ink illustrations explores the dark corners of grief, abandonment, childhood neglect, trauma, broken dreams, and all the shit that comes with being born into a less than ideal situation and the chaos and rot that follows, when you grow up and realize things don’t get better, they just get shittier and shittier. I think every illustration reflects the feelings and ideas I want to express. I hope you enjoy! 🖤

Looking for a place to rest, I found a clearing hidding within a dense sea of trees. There was no one around me, neither could I hear a sound, not the songs of birds nor the buzzing of insects. It was as though there was no life and all that was left, was a frozen calm within the deep green.

The trees around me were decorated with old ribbons, cloths and frayed ropes as if they were remnants from an ancient festival.

It was the perfect spot. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder, opened my eyes and looked around me. There was no one there, only a row of shoes that were not there before, though they had been there for a long time. The shoes were carefully arranged one next to another, as if they were waiting for their owners to come back.

Beyond the shoes, I saw what it seemed like the entrance to a cave. It was really well hidden beneath moss and the roots of a big crooked tree. Someone or something was calling me from the inside. I was not afraid. I was exhausted; I only wanted a place to rest.

I removed the laces of my boots and hung them on a sturdy branch over the entrance. I gently placed my shoes next to the others and crawled beneath the cave toward the dark opening.

Once inside, the roots cradled me into the infinite and cold darkness of the underground.

Outside, the moss swallowed the shoes. The unbroken silence remained, and the ropes and ribbons swayed in the wind waving goodbye to the light of day.
