Boot examples/app-showcase with --seed-admin and sign in as admin.
Setup → Invitations → Invite invitee2@example.com (role Member). From the row menu choose Cancel Invitation and confirm.
In a fresh signed-out browser, open /_console/accept-invitation/ID, where ID is the canceled invitation's id. The page reads "Accept your invitation … Create an account and join".
Register with invitee2@example.com.
Separately, invite invitee3@example.com, open its valid link signed out, and register with a different address such as someone@example.com.

Step 3: the page says the invitation was canceled (or is no longer valid) and offers no registration form.
Step 4: if the form is still reached, it says the invitation was canceled.
