There are endless garbage products out, and there are good products - but are just rehashes of products already released from others.

I strive to release original and different products. This one is about infographics - which are not new - but I developed a system to offer over 1000 choices of how to create infographics. Let’s dive in...

The Idea:

Nothing beats visual content. Graphics trigger a different response than text based content. Just think when you are scrolling social media. What captures your attention? I bet it’s graphics way more than just text.

I love how infographics convey information. In the past you needed some serious graphic design skills to make good ones. But then came AI to the rescue - almost. For the first few years of testing AI to make infographics, the visual part was beautiful but the words were messed up. Spelling mistakes, weird word placement, weird punctuation - which meant using AI for infographics a no-go. The technology was not good enough yet.

However something changed months ago. AI got better at the words. And then way better!

So I went back to the drawing board to create an infographics generator that actually made something pleasing.

I was shocked at how awesome AI is now at making them!

Creating The Product:

Working with ChatGPT we created a system that creates prompts that are then used to make infographics. To be clear, my product does not make the infographics. Instead it provides prompts based selections of the keyword or subject, the style, and the dimensions. Then using those three inputs, the system provides up to 60 prompts - each for a specific use.

Creating this product took longer than most others since I had to do a lot of testing - of making the infographics to see how they came out. ChatGPT could take a couple of minutes to generate one and I needed to test a good 100 or so to ensure the product is working. Luckily I had a blast just testing! The infographics were stunning.

I named the product InfoPrompts AI. I ended up with a 3 part funnel. The main product, also known as the FE or front end, provides 30 types of uses. The first upsell increases that to 60, and also provides more formatting selections. The second upsell provides creating carousels. The system provides a choice for how many slides to include in a carousel.

The Product Launch:

I setup to release InfoPrompts AI on the Warrior Plus platform. I have many affiliate contacts who would promote this for me, along with me selling it direct to my own customers. The process typically is announcing the launch a couple of weeks ahead of the release date, and then reaching out to affiliates so they could schedule it in. Affiliates get a 50% commission. I also set up a contest.

InfoPrompts AI launched on September 13, 2026 - about 5 weeks ago from when I am writing this. It became the #1 product on Warrior Plus for a day or two. As of now InfoPrompts AI has earned $8,756.25 from 279 sales. The conversion rate was 12% and the refund rate just 1%.

Conclusion:

This was clearly a successful launch. The product was different from a sea of endless mediocre products that tend to be released daily. I strive to create products that are different and unique - and this strategy paid off.

Some product creators obsess over every last detail. That’s a good thing!

It makes sense. People will use what you create and it has to work as intended. That’s a plus for the customer, and for you. A win-win.

However there is a line where extra features that delay releasing your product are not helping. These extra features could be extra training modules, more templates, more bells and whistles. It’s easy to get lost in the ‘edge cases’ - adding features you think are needed yet would only benefit a small amount of customers.

Digital products can always be updated. There is no rush to put everything into your product when first released.

When you identify what parts of your product are necessary and which ones are optional, then you can make smart decisions of what to keep and what to remove.

And then you are ready to release.

Releasing your first product is both a thrill ride, and possibly a letdown. You might sell 3 copies, you might sell 3000. You might feel elated, you might not. What we expect, and what reality turns out to be, can be wildly different.

Making money is the key, at least for most people. How do you judge the amount that you make on your first digital product? Some are happy with $100, for others it’s $1000 or more. For some anything less than $10,000 is a failure.

Decide for yourself what a successful launch is. Don’t be swayed by the success of others. They have likely been doing product releases for a while. See your first launch as the first of many. You learn more with each one.

Another piece of advice that is hard for many - detach. Don’t wrap your entire being up with your product. If it succeeds that is fantastic. But if the launch didn’t perform well, if you are able to separate your emotional involvement from the practical lesson learned, then it hopefully will help to see that not all disappointing efforts are losses. They are lessons on what to improve the next time. There is no perfect. It’s a moving target. I have created products, updated them after getting customer feedback, fully redone them from the ground up and released them again. There are many possibilities how to do this. But you will get nowhere waiting for perfect.

So once you release that first product without every conceivable bell and whistle then you know what? - it’s time to get working on your next!

Every product starts with a spark. You’re in the shower, on a walk, scrolling online, and an idea pops into your head. An idea for a product that people would totally pay you for.

That spark is exciting. It’s also risky. Plenty of creators have spent weeks building a product, launched it with high hopes, and heard nothing but crickets.

After creating more than 100 digital products, I’ve learned that the most important work happens before you build anything. It’s a hard concept for many starting out with digital products. It sure seems like you should make the product, make sure it works, and then show it to the world. Sometimes that approach works. But not always. I have been there and done that. And regretted not following my own advice! For me personally I get too excited about, and focused on, the creation process. I have been guilty of thinking just because I like something, so will others. But alas - not always.

It takes discipline to view product creation from a business perspective. I fall in love with what I create. In fact I have created many things that I never released because I did not validate the idea.

What exactly is product validation?

It’s first taking a pulse on the market to see if there is enough interest in something before you actually build it. How do you do that? The best way is just being active where your typical customer hangs out. This is often online in places such as Facebook groups.

However there are other ways to validate, and fairly easy. In my opinion the best place to validate an idea is to search on YouTube for the problem your potential product would address. How many views have those videos gotten? How old are the videos? How many videos are there for that particular need?

If you see YouTube videos for your search term that are many years old, without any new ones - well, that’s a sign to not create the product. However if you see videos that are newer (perhaps in the past 2 years), and have hundreds or thousands of views - that’s the validation you are looking for.

By the way don’t get stuck thinking the competition is too much. Competition is good. No competition means there are no people looking for the solution.

Four things to consider when validating a product idea:

Is there competition?

Many people see competition and get discouraged. I see it and get excited.

Competition means there’s a market. It means people are already paying for the fix your product would provide. Sales are being made for other vendors. If you are in the market with your own product, you should see sales too.

So go look. Search the platforms where your product would sell. Check how many similar products exist, what they cost, and what buyers say in the reviews. Reviews are a treasure chest: complaints tell you exactly what the existing products are missing.

What you want is a market with some competition, enough to prove demand, but where you can see room to do something better or different.

Is it a new twist on something already popular?

This is my favorite, because it’s where the magic happens. If it is already popular then the validation is already a slam dunk. The market is proven.

This is important: you don’t need a completely original idea. Completely original ideas are risky, because you have to convince people they need something they’ve never heard of. A new twist on something people already want is much easier to sell.

Look at what’s popular and ask: Can I make it faster? Easier? Cheaper? More specific to one group? Can I combine two things that usually come separately? Can I bring in a new technology, like AI, to do it a new way?

When AI music tools like Suno came along, music courses already existed, and so did the interest in making music. But a course showing everyday non-musical people how to create songs with AI was a fresh angle on an existing desire. That’s the sweet spot: familiar demand, new approach.

That is exactly how one of my products - AI Vibe Music Mastery came to be. There is no question music is popular! And then a new technology comes out that let’s anyone make music (I guess my years of music education are not worth what they used be? No idea). AI Vibe Music Mastery shows how to use Suno to make AI music via plain English prompts. The result of that launch: 615 copies sold, $18, 942 in sales.

Will a large number of people benefit from this?

A great product for twelve people is a hobby, not a business.

Before building, think about the size of your audience. How many people have the problem your product solves? Are they actively looking for a solution? Are they used to paying for products like this?

This doesn’t mean you need to appeal to everyone. A focused product for a specific group often sells better than a general one. But that group needs to be big enough, and motivated enough, to support real sales.

Do you use the product yourself? This one isn’t a requirement, but it’s an advantage.

When you’ve lived the problem, you understand it at a level no amount of research can match. You know the frustrations, the language people use, and the features that actually matter. Your sales page practically writes itself, because you’re describing your own experience.

Many of my most successful products, especially my software tools, started because I needed something that didn’t exist yet or didn’t work the way I wanted. I built it for myself first, then realized others had the same need.

If you don’t personally use what you’re building, that’s okay. But you’ll need to work a little more to understand your buyers. Talk to them, read their reviews and complaints, and test your assumptions before you build.

Are there clear distribution channels?

This is the question many people skip, and it’s often the one that decides whether a product succeeds. This really is a vital piece. If there is no way to get your product out there, then no sales will happen.

In a nutshell this is the traffic question. Where are the potential customers. How do you get in front of them?

Some possibilities:

• Affiliates who promote it to their own lists. My first launch reached more than 1,000 customers this way.

• Marketplaces like Etsy or Amazon, where buyers are already searching.

• Pinterest, YouTube, or plain old search, where content can bring buyers for years.

• Partnerships with creators, newsletters, and communities that already have the audience’s attention.

• Your own list and followers.

If you have at least one clear way to reach buyers, you’re in good shape. If your plan is just - “I’ll post about it and hope for the best” - stop. Figure out how to get your offer in front of people before wasting your time.

Putting it all together

Before your next build, run your idea through this quick checklist:

• Is there competition proving demand?

• Is it a new twist on something already popular?

• Will enough people benefit?

• Do you use it yourself, or deeply understand those who would?

• Are there clear ways to reach buyers?

If you can answer yes to these, you’ve got something worth building. If not, then skip it. Don’t take days or even weeks creating something that has no viable market.

The best product creators aren’t the ones with the most ideas. They’re the ones who know which ideas to build.

There’s a moment I’ll never forget.

I had just launched my first digital product. I’d built it, priced it, set up the sales pages, lined up a few affiliates, and clicked the button to make it live. Then I watched the sales come in. Not one or two. Not a dozen or two (what I had expected), but rather hundreds. By the end of that launch, more than 1,000 people had bought something I created on my own.

No boss. No inventory. No warehouse. No shipping. Just an idea, turned into a product, sold to people who actively searching for a new to earn online.

I created the product around something I was already familiar with - puzzles. In particular how to publish puzzle books on Amazon.

Releasing that first product changed my life. It went on to sell over $100,000 in the first month, and over time grossed over $350,000.

I quit my job, paid off all my bills, and here I am still creating and releasing products. At this point I have around $2,000,000 in sales.

What actually is a digital product?

It’s anything you create once and deliver online. An ebook. A course. A spreadsheet. A template. A printable. A piece of software.

The beauty is in the math. A physical product costs money every time you sell one. A digital product costs you the same whether you sell 10 copies or 10,000. Every sale after the first is almost pure profit.

And people buy them every single day, in every niche you can think of: business, hobbies, health, money, music, crafts, parenting, gardening. If people are interested in something, someone is selling them a digital product about it.

Why now is the best time ever to start

A few years ago, creating a product took weeks or months. You had to write everything yourself, design everything yourself, and figure out the tech on your own.

Today, AI tools can help you outline a course in an afternoon, draft an ebook in a weekend, design a spreadsheet, write a sales page, or even build simple software. The barrier to entry has never been lower.

But here’s what AI can’t do for you: pick the right idea, package it so people want it, price it, and get it in front of buyers. That’s the part most people get wrong. And that’s what I’m here to help with.

Technology keeps changing. The way we do things changes. But there is something that never changes - people looking for help. It could be financial help, relationship help, health help. Help with parenting, help with career growth, and so much more.

The point is - when we make digital products we are making them for people, not just for the sake of making them. Don’t start creating a digital product until you know what need your product addresses.

You don’t need a big following to start. You don’t need to be a tech expert. You need a good idea, a clear plan, and someone who has walked the path to point the way.

As an entrepreneur I basically work around the clock. Well, sort of. I do get a good night’s sleep, do errands, exercise, have quality time with my wife, and occasionally binge watch some fun show.

But…

Work is always attached to me and that’s okay. This morning I did some financial planning for my business, and am now mapping out a new product release.

The best part of this is that I decide what my hours are, and what my focus is.

There’s something I learned over the years that I hope is beneficial for you too. It’s that when you align what motivates you with earning money from that, it no longer feels like work.

So even though I say I am working on Saturday, I am also just being myself.

How You Can Get There

There is no magic button to get it all perfect. It does take time.

The trick is to pay attention to your feelings. If some activity you do, that you think will grow your business or online activities does not feel right, you are heading in the wrong direction.

We all get stuck in the trap of doing things we don’t care to do in order to make ends meet. You know that is like? - having a job.

You don’t want a ‘job’ - do you?

Approach everything you do with your built in ‘do I feel this is working for me’ yardstick. If you are not feeling good about an activity you are going to start on, you know it’s just going to get worse and frustrating.

One of the traps with all that is trying to keep up with your competition. Don’t chase that. Instead see what you can do that puts you ahead of the competition. Be a leader, not a follower.

If you need help in figuring that help, you can use AI to brainstorm, which can be very useful. ChatGPT knows me inside and out at this point. Chat is now my business coach (and doesn’t cost a fortune like a real one would!)

One other thing - never stop learning. Never stop seeing where a new skill can take you. Branch out. Be in situations that might feel uncomfortable but in the end help you grow.
