The undecided voter. The independent who votes Democrat. The MAGA faithful who is abandoning Trump. These are the myths we tell ourselves every time election season comes around.

We see the polls, the TikTok interviews, the Trumpgrets compilations.

“This time they learned their lesson. This time for sure. Certainly,” we say smugly, thinking a Democrat landslide is wrapped up and waiting for us come election day. Blue Wave! Blue Tsunami! Total takeover! Every. Single. Time.

Trump’s rallies are empty! The Dems are out fundraising! The right-wing influencers are defecting! The MAGA pundits are on the defense! Everyone sees how incompetent and bad for America the Republicans are! Look how mad the farmers are! Republicans are getting DESTROYED in the polls!

All signs point to Hillary winning! Sorry, I meant Kamala! Sorry, I meant [insert Democrat of your choice].

Every. Single. Time.

Then the numbers come in. More of a Blue Mist than a Blue Wave. A Purple Puddle, really.

And now, in 2026, as midterms approach, we’re seeing the exact same rumors flooding our feeds that Republicans, conservatives, and die-hard MAGA are abandoning Donald Trump.

Realistically, the Right isn’t running away from Trump. They aren’t defecting. At best, they’re pinching their noses as the vote down ballot, voting a partial ticket, or sitting this election out. They aren’t suddenly seeing the light after 10 years up Donald Trump’s skirt. If anything, they’re just waiting to be told what to blame next for Trump’s failures.

We all see the headlines.

Well, guess what - polling isn’t voting. At the end of the day, nothing matters except the number of ballots cast by November 3rd. We shouldn’t take comfort in the polling data. We shouldn’t get complacent because we see MAGA yelling at Trump online because affordability might not be a Democrat hoax.

We need to register to vote by October 5th. We need to triple-check our voter status. We need to vote early from October 19 - October 30. We need to show up on Election Day (November 3rd) and bring a friend.

Make an election plan. Make one for your friends and family. Get out the vote.

Something is shifting in the conservative online vitriol. And before you get your hopes up, it’s NOT in a good way. Whether we think it's polite to discuss or not, conservatism always comes with a dose of prejudice or outright racism. We’ve always seen it against the black and brown community. We’ve seen Islamophobia rise exponentially this year thanks to a few key political races. But we’ve also seen an influx of violent, vitriolic rhetoric against Indians and Indian-Americans.

Indian Americans and Indian immigrants have become the newest target of online conservative anger, despite sometimes leaning conservative themselves. Family-oriented. Religious. Hard work ethic. These are the values the right claims to love. So why the sudden obsession? Republican Vice President JD Vance has an Indian wife and biracial children, but claims that immigrants “poison the blood of our country,” a statement very similar to a line in Adolph Hitler’s Mein Kampf. The controversial Brandon Gill, a republican representative in Texas, has an Indian wife and biracial child too. So why is this hate growing on the right?

Part of this increase in online hate is the need for a new scapegoat to cover new problems. As the middle class shrinks, unemployment rises, wages stagnate, and Americans find themselves spending more and getting less, the tried and true excuses don’t work. Basically, the right has expanded the classic “immigrants are taking our jobs” rhetoric to cover white-collar jobs in high-paying industries like medicine and tech.

Right-wing accounts online call for a moratorium on H1B visas, while the Trump administration has implemented a $100,000 application fee in some cases. The H-1B program applies to employers seeking to hire nonimmigrant workers in specialty occupations based on merit and ability. Qualifying for one requires a body of highly specialized knowledge. The intent of the H-1B is to help employers who cannot otherwise obtain needed business skills and abilities from the U.S. workforce. But if you ask the angry mob online, it’s just another part of the “great replacement theory”.

The tech industry and Silicon Valley have been adding Indian and Indian Americans to higher roles over the past decade. The head of Microsoft’s Xbox/gaming division is an Indian American woman. Google has had an Indian CEO since 2015. White men still overwhelmingly run the Fortune 500 and generally most of the world, but this increased visibility has made Indians the new target of the Right.

Indians account for less than 2% of the US population, but you wouldn’t know it based on the way Bo French, the Republican candidate for railroad commissioner in Texas, reacted after noticing that there was a number of South Asian students in the crowd at a UT football game.

“I heard UT graduation this year looked like this. I didn’t believe it. The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined,” he posted, tweeting over a picture of celebrating students, adding “how many Americans have been displaced by foreigners.”

This is becoming a major issue, especially in Texas, which has one of the largest concentrations of Indian Americans in the country — over half a million people. Many community members there have been shocked by the rise in anti-Indian hate in a state that has been a relatively safe space for South Asian immigrants.

But the past two years have seen an increase in vitriol and hatred towards this community, almost entirely created and boosted by online influencers warning about a “desi takeover” of Texas. The rage economy of the internet has given nothing but financial incentive for these accounts to peddle anti-Indian messaging online.

But now, these far-right nativists, who hate immigrants and minorities, are becoming major, vocal players in politics (like Bo French). Turning Point USA, the organization led by the late Charlie Kirk, is one of the organizations paying influencers to harass the Indian community in Texas for views, clicks, and outrage. Charlie Kirk specifically singled out Indians, saying that “America does not need more visas for people from India.”

Racism is born out of fear, so what are these right-wingers so afraid of? What has placed Indian Americans in these crosshairs? Well, to put it quite simply, mediocrity.

Stay with me now.

Traditionally, the minorities who’ve faced the brunt of right-wing attacks tend to be working class, like Trump’s false claims about Mexico sending rapists across the border or Haitians eating people’s pets. These attacks usually highlight what they see as an inequality or disparity between cultures, like the propensity to call these cultures “third world”.

However, Indian Americans aren’t being stereotyped as criminals coming here illegally to do crimes. They are instead seen as a status threat to the middle class. Americans want their kids to rise to the top of their school, get the good job, and live a life they deserve. Not earned, but deserved. In the minds of people who see these types of immigrants as a threat, they now fear that an Asian kid will outwork their child and take whatever place they think their kid deserves.

Maybe that was what caused the backlash against Vivek Ramaswamy, who posted on social media that he felt there were deficiencies in American culture when it comes to studying and working hard.

There’s a certain level of coping mixed with model minority racism in trying to frame the success of Indian Americans. People say, “Of course they’re getting into the top schools; they’re shut in studying all day.” They conjure the image of the Tiger Mom. They come up with any reason, other than their own shortcomings, to explain what went wrong in their lives.

A 2024 study conducted by a team led by Yale immigration researcher Leah Boustan examined the composition of high-income suburban school districts in California between the years 2000 and 2016. What they found was that as more Asian students arrived in a school district, white enrollment went down, test scores rose, but the test scores of white students remained the same.

So maybe, just maybe, what bothers these anti-immigrant nativists isn’t that Indians are refusing to integrate into American society. Maybe it’s that they are providing competition, and instead of rising to meet the moment, they’ve chosen to lash out and attack their fellow Americans.

And while all of this has existed in decades past, the amplification of these anxieties by far-right influencers has modernized the hate. It spreads with virality. It becomes the new trend. And it drags us all down with it. Instead of sinking to their lows, we all need to strive to do better and rise above the rhetoric.

On Monday, Donald Trump did what Donald Trump does: stand in front of a crowd of his most loyal supporters and spout racist lies. He was supposed to be boosting the reelection campaign of republican Senator Jon Husted, but Trump, being Trump, instead attacked Haitian and Somali immigrants.

Trump also gave a shoutout to Rep. Max Miller, pointing him out in the audience, and thanking him for attending. If you can’t keep up with the constant slew of republican scandals, Max Miller is the Republican congressman who refused to stop running for reelection despite his alleged history of domestic abuse, which included breaking his toddler daughter’s collarbone.

While on stage, Trump completely forgot about promoting Husted and instead recreated his greatest hit from the 2024 election: attacking refugee populations in the state. He bragged that his lie about Haitians eating pets was true, saying, “I was right,” and boasted that Haitians were being driven out of the country by his administration.

“If you want to stop Ohio from being plundered, ransacked and destroyed like Minnesota is being destroyed, we’re going to stop it. Just like we did with Springfield, we’re going to stop it; we’re not going to let it happen.” Trump’s remarks came on the same day Homeland Security agents raided the home of Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Somali immigrant who rose to become a Minnesota state rep.

Despite winning the state by 11 points in 2024, Republicans have focused on Ohio as fears of a “blue wave” grow. Thanks to the horrific economy and never-ending Iran war created by the Trump administration, Republicans are having to campaign in states that were previously guaranteed red strongholds. The horror! Having to EARN votes? Unheard of. I guess “drag queen, transgender, boys in girls’ bathroom” doesn’t work as a platform when people can’t afford to live.

The Trump administration ended a refugee program that allowed more than 350,000 Haitians to stay in the country legally, including some of the roughly 15,000 Haitians who arrived in Springfield in recent years and built a thriving community.

“They’re getting their town back,” Trump said as he stood by his debunked statement that the Haitians were eating local pets. Trump devoted even more time to racist attacks on the immigrants from Somalia, saying that they were “low IQ” and “don’t have pants to wear.”

It’s hard to tell if hitting the greatest hits of his racist remarks was enough to move the needle. The “joy” of the rally was overshadowed by the news that 1,400 Ohioans were being laid off from a truck factory. The layoffs were large enough that they essentially erased an entire year of job growth in the greater Dayton, Ohio, area. This year’s election is a reckoning for the working class. Rural and working-class Americans voted Trump into the White House. Now, the fate of our democracy will once again be decided by states like Ohio.

Oh, I almost forgot - Trump also made a bunch of weird sexual remarks about a male senator, saying, “I don’t do this with men very often; I started examining his body… I looked up and down, I looked at his ass, and the whole thing”.

So, um……yeah.

Donald Trump has been rambling- sorry, “weaving” a lot more than he usually does as he goes from one state to another on a Republican Midterm Hail Mary Tour. Maybe it’s the exhaustion. Maybe it’s because he’s 80. Maybe it’s because he’s got dementia. Whatever the reason, Trump simply cannot stay on track or on message.

This weekend, Donald Trump rambled about taking Aspirin for its “psychological effects”. Previously, he has said that he takes 325 milligrams of aspirin each day, nearly 4 times the recommended 81 milligrams for “cardiac prevention.” He has also said that his doctors have advised that he lower the dosage, but he continues taking it.

Now, what Trump is describing is the placebo effect (not a psychological effect), in which taking the hero dose of aspirin every day makes him feel like it’s saving him from the various blood ailments he suffers from.

“I take an aspirin a day. I don’t know if it works, but psychologically I need it,” he bragged in front of an audience of his most loyal supporters.

“It thins the hell out of your blood, I guess. I don’t know if it works or not, but I’ve been doing it for a long time. And here I am making speeches.”

It’s so crazy that Trump is openly talking about his health issues, especially considering the great lengths his administration goes to make us think that the blood pooling in his ankles, his constantly bruised hands, his unintelligible rambling, that weird neck rash, his slurred speech, his repeated confusion, his falling asleep in public, his insomnia, and his inability to walk or stand straight are normal and not indicative of any greater health issue.

He added that his preferred brand is Bayer, calling it the “little yellow.”

“I take the big one. They want me to go down to the 80. I take the 386. I don’t know what the hell it is. It’s a monster. They said, ‘Sir, you don’t need that!’ I said, ‘Do me a favor, I’ve been doing okay for 35 years. Leave me alone,’” he continued.

Of the smaller dosage his doctors are begging him to take, Trump said, “but it’s tiny; it doesn’t look right.”

He then rambled into a hypothetical that makes it feel like the daily pill is more of a superstitious thing for him, saying, “I’ll switch to the little tiny thing, but then something bad will happen, and I’ll say ‘you son of a b---h doctor.’”

He then told the audience that the daily pill is the cause of his bruising, but it’s worth it because “I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?” This explanation is a direct contradiction of the White House’s excuse that the bruising is always present because of the number of hands Trump shakes on the daily.

Trump then “wove” his way back to what I can only assume was the actual message he was supposed to give, which was news of Bayer opening a campus in Ohio.

Victor Marx, the MAGA ministry leader that Colorado Republicans selected for Governor in the primaries, has said some crazy s***. He looks like a bloated version of “The Most Interesting Man in the World,” and the way he tells his life story, he lives like him too.

Marx claims to have killed a man at the age of 7. He once worked as an assistant to James Dobson, the anti-LGBTQ crusader, responsible for claims like women being subservient to men and that mass school shootings were God’s vengeance for Americans’ acceptance of abortion and homosexuality. (Will he denounce him for these statements?) He once touted unfounded claims that his ministry had rescued more than 45,000 women. The claim was later found to be false. He claims that his ministry once did an airstrike on ISIS.

Marx claims that demonic possession is real and that he has been able to remove demons from possessed individuals through the power of prayer.

He claims that demonic possession can be caused by pornography or unmarried couples living together.

He claims that he “hunts demons” and that his dog once sniffed out a demonic presence in a couple at a pool. He and the dog were, of course, able to then free the afflicted woman from the five demons possessing her.

What I’m getting at is that Marx loves to brag about things he thinks make him look good. Unfortunately, these boasts include abusing his family and fraud. Let’s start with the fraud.

In a recently surfaced recording, Marx implies that his campaign filed someone else’s large contribution under Marx’s own name to avoid campaign finance limits. In Colorado, individual donations are capped at $1450 per campaign. But there’s no limit on candidates self-funding. Marx recently told supporters that his campaign ‘put my name on’ a $5000 contribution from an LLC ‘to get the $5000 into the campaign account.

Now, old podcast recordings have come back to bite him too. This guy should really stay away from mics.

In several videos, Marx brags about his explosive, violent, and clearly unhinged behavior.

In a 2021 video, Marx recalled becoming “infuriated” after his wife told him she no longer needed martial arts training because she was married to a Marine black belt.

“She goes, ‘I can handle myself’. I said, ‘You can?’ And I remember grabbing her, slamming her into our front door,” he laughed during an interview on a podcast called Protector Nation.

“I mean, it was a decent push. It’d be a bouncing push, right? She hit that, bent over and started crying, facing the opposite way.”

In his own podcast in 2020, he also described an incident in which he threw his toddler-aged son across a room.

“I reacted so fast and so disproportionately that I snatched him up and threw him across the room,” adding that “he started crying. And I’ll never forget, I went, what was that? I mean, I couldn’t believe it.”

His son isn’t the only child he’s been violent towards. He has bragged about punching a kid at a juvenile facility until he started bleeding, and then intimidating a mental-health provider by blocking the door and telling him he would never have time to call for help, and pulling a Marine Corps knife on a psychiatrist.

At a Turning Point USA event, Marx also joked that he “had a knack for conflict”, elaborating to the crowd, “I don’t know, I feel like God gave me a gift for violence, against a manifestation of evil.”

Colorado Republicans Barb Kirkmeyer and Scott Bottoms have called him a liar and a fraud and said he was unfit for the job of governor.

“I can’t trust you,” Kirkmeyer told him during their primary debate. “You’re unfit. You’re unqualified.”

He now faces Democratic Party nominee Phil Weiser in November for the governor’s seat. Colorado hasn't elected a Republican governor since 2002, and I PRAY this man isn’t who they choose to break that streak.

International vacationers are opting out of America. Even our neighbors are looking further away when choosing where to play. And honestly, who could blame them? If your neighbor threatened to break into your house, arrest your family, and otherwise incite violence against you, would YOU go to their potluck?

Hosting the World Cup this year is the only reason international tourism isn’t fully imploding. Visitors from Canada are down 23 percent over the past two years, as nearly 80% of Canadians no longer view America as a friend or ally. Travel from Germany and France has dropped 16 percent and 15 percent. Overall, the US has had 2 million fewer international tourists than last year, which makes sense when you see how ICE treats actual citizens.

Overall, overseas visits are roughly 20 percent below the 2019 peak of 79 million visitors. That’s a lot of money not going into the economy.

“We’re the only major country in the world losing visitation,” says Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. “It’s mind-boggling.”

The steep decline comes after an already brutally bad 2025 for tourism. Last year, 4 million fewer international visitors braved our border compared to 2024, a 5.5 percent drop in overseas tourism overall, resulting in a loss of $8 billion.

The 2025 decline in tourism marked the sharpest annual drop in overseas tourism in roughly two decades, outside of the 2019 COVID pandemic.

According to reports, Canadian travel to major U.S. cities may have fallen by as much as 42 percent over the past year. Maybe threatening to invade their country 3 times a week has turned Canadians off to us. Or maybe it’s the insane tariffs Trump keeps slapping on them without rhyme or reason.

After Trump imposed tariffs (the FIRST time) on Canada last year, visits from Canadians fell by 17 percent, leading to a 7.5 percent overall decline in tourism. Other countries plagued by Trump tariffs have also seen a decline in visits to the US. France and Germany were among eight European countries Trump threatened with a 10 percent tariff, potentially rising to 25 percent, because they opposed his threat to annex Greenland.

In response, German visits to the U.S. fell about 12 percent in 2025, while French visits fell nearly 7 percent.

Adding fuel to the fire, in June of this year, Trump threatened major tariffs on French wine and champagne after French President Emmanuel Macron opposed the U.S. when Trump once again broached invading Greenland.

“I asked them not to charge American companies, and if they do, I have no choice but to charge a 100 percent tariff on all champagnes and all wines coming out of France. All [French President Emmanuel Macron] has to do is get rid of the sales tax, and he wouldn’t have that kind of pressure.”

Meanwhile, Trump publicly lashed out at German Chancellor Friedrich Merz after Merz criticized U.S. strategy in the Iran war. Trump also announced plans to reduce the number of U.S. troops stationed in Germany by 5,000 after the country objected to Trump’s unpopular war in Iran.

The World Cup helped stop the bleeding this year, but I think we can all expect the 2027 numbers to be even more damning.

It only took a little over 10 minutes before Trump’s “weave” wove into threatening genocide against a fellow member of the UN during a speech in front of the UN.

During a meandering, low-energy, yet still violent, speech, Trump casually announced he had “a big decision to make” over Iran, bragged about invading Venezuela, and generally embarrassed America on the world stage. This was impressive; I didn’t think he could make the US look worse than it already does.

Of Iran, Trump posited, “Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before? Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?”

Since the beginning of Trump’s unpopular and expensive war, he has threatened to wipe Iran off the map several times, previously threatening to send the country “to the Stone Age” or end its civilization. He’s done it so much that most people ignore him, kind of like a toddler throwing a tantrum in the supermarket.

But this wasn’t Truth Social, or a call to Fox and Friends, or an interview in front of a helipad - this was at the UN, whose sole purpose was to prevent a repeat of the carnage and violence of World War 2. Yet here was Trump, threatening allies while actively at war and threatening every country on our side of the hemisphere.

Trump then went on to lie about the number of Iranians killed in anti-government protests, somehow coming up with over 72,000.

Iran got the worst of it, but they weren’t Trump’s only targets.

Members of the Cuban delegation walked out during his speech as he droned on about the country's collapse and talked about their struggles with food security, leaving out that decades of American sanctions haven’t helped the situation.

“It’s an absolutely failed state; it’s failing like never before, and it will fall. Marco Rubio is handling a negotiation. He’s deep into negotiations with Cuba. Let’s see what happens.” He then said he wanted to drop Rubio out of a military carrier, into Cuba, on the way back from Iran, for some reason I’m sure made sense in his deteriorating mind.

He then reminisced about the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela, implying that this treatment is how the administration would behave in Latin America if they don’t “stay in line.” Adding menaciong insult to injury, he bragged that, after invading Venezuela, the US now controlled 60% of the world’s oil.

“It was perhaps the biggest deal ever made. To the victor belong the spoils – you’ve all heard that,” Trump said. Mmmmm, not so much a deal as a combination of invasion and kidnapping of a world leader, but whatever. Semantics.

“Our actions in Venezuela are proof that the United States will no longer permit threats to America to gain a foothold anywhere in the Western Hemisphere, and, if necessary, we will use our unmatched military might to secure the vital national interests of the United States.”

Trump also took a hostile position against the International Criminal Court, calling it an “out-of-control institution” and “an evil group of people”.

“We will never allow US service members or anyone else to be investigated or given show trials by an anti-American tribunal with no jurisdiction over us,” he said. Is anyone else getting dictator energy from this? Why is he allowed to threaten people who try to hold criminals accountable? Oh, I just answered my own question.

As an egregious cherry on top, Trump finished the speech by saying he will platform AI or, as he calls it now, “super intelligence”. His reasoning? “Artificial makes it sound fake – and it’s not fake.”

Whatever you say, grandpa, time for bed.
