Open, local-first infrastructure for research, writing, and publishing.
Oleafly is a free, open-source workspace and the tooling around it. A powerful desktop research studio to write, compile, and publish documents in LaTeX, Typst, and Markdown, a template marketplace, and the website and docs that go with them. Everything runs on your machine, keeps your work as plain files, and stays yours.
| Project | What it is |
|---|---|
| Oleafly | The powerful desktop research studio. Write, compile, version, and publish LaTeX, Typst, and Markdown with offline AI, Git, and GitHub sync. |
| oleafly-web | The website and product docs at oleafly.com. |
| template-packs | A growing, downloadable template marketplace the app fetches on demand. |
| DocMut | AST-based document mutation testing for LaTeX, Typst, and Markdown—controlled faults for repair benchmarks and tooling. |
- Local-first. Projects, files, and history live on your computer. No account is required.
- Document-native. Real LaTeX, Typst, and Markdown engines compile beside your source, with PDF preview and SyncTeX.
- Agent-ready. Offline and bring-your-own-key AI can read, edit, compile, and review a project alongside you, and an MCP surface lets external agents in.
- Open by default. Free and open-source, with the app under AGPL-3.0, built in the open.
The long-term goal is a complete local-first research loop: research (manual and assisted), write (manual and assisted), compile (automatic and engine based), and publish, with an optional agentic harness that can run parts of the loop for you. Bring your own model today. Optional cloud sync and runs are planned for later, and local-first stays the default.
