Fixes #25315

Part of #15212. This card carries the #15212 ledger items 6348725929 and 6353870843. Claim: 6354363886, amended in 6354903470 to add bootstrap-platform-admin.ts.

Measurement first

The measurement is in comment 6354428826 on #25315. The seat's ruling on it was: fold; keep R-1 and R-2; keep A-1.

Anchor rule (ADR-0131 D5): one rule, spelled three times.

  • Readers:
    • core grantAnchorsPlatformStanding;
    • plugin-auth anchorOwnerTest;
    • plugin-security isAnchorHumanHolder. This third copy was found during the measurement.
  • All three read the REQUESTED posture.
  • Kept by design:
    • A-1: the core and guard normalizers differ, for a non-string, non-number organization_id.
    • A-2: the promotion compares organization_id raw (===), and reads no organizationId.
  • The Default Organization is never '', so no differing input reaches an answer. The rule takes the organization already normalized, and each reader keeps its own normalizer.

Reach rule (ADR-0131 D8/D9): one rule over different facts.

  • Readers: core's localization fallback and SettingsService.
  • Kept by design; both make the fallback the stricter reader:
    • R-1: the fallback reads the REQUESTED posture; the service reads the posture IN FORCE.
    • R-2: the fallback degrades a failed derivation to unowned; the service propagates it.
  • The rule takes the wall and the D9 decision as parameters. Each call site keeps its own source and failure policy, and its doc comment names the difference.

What changes

New in core security (packages/core/src/security/):

  • platform-standing-anchor.ts: organizationAnchorsPlatformStanding(grantOrganizationId, { walled, defaultOrganizationId }).
  • organization-reach.ts:
    • resolveOrganizationReach({ callerOrganizationId, wallStands, deriveOrganization }), which asks each fact lazily and in order;
    • organizationReachAdmits, organizationReachRowOwner and organizationIdOf;
    • UNOWNED_ORGANIZATION_REACH and the OrganizationReach type.
  • Both modules are exported from the security index.

Readers now calling them:

  • resolve-authz-context.ts: §6b's anchor, and localizationFallbackReach plus its row filter. settingRowOrganizationOf is removed.
  • last-admin-guard.ts: anchorOwnerTest, over the simulated Default Organization.
  • bootstrap-platform-admin.ts: findPlatformAdminGrantHolder takes the anchor facts. isAnchorHumanHolder calls the rule and keeps its system-user exclusion.
  • settings-service.ts: organizationReachOf, withinReach, loadScopedRows and the write owner. The local OrganizationReach type and callerOrganizationIdOf are removed.

Grep: no restatement of either rule is left. The ownership checks that remain in plugin-security's suggested-audience-bindings.ts and organization-ownership-plan.ts decide record ownership and attribution, not standing or reach.

The memoised sys_organization probe was skipped. The fallback is bounded already, and a memo would add a cache keyed on an outage path.

Clause-②: yes (widening)
Metadata-protocol: none

The diff adds core exports and narrows no accept set. No behaviour change: every existing pin is unchanged and green.

Tests and ablations

New tests:

  • platform-standing-anchor.test.ts: 12 rows over posture, Default Organization and grant owner.
  • organization-reach.test.ts: 26 cases. They cover caller × wall × D9 decision with the facts each row asks, row-owner and admits tables, and throw propagation.
  • Two reader pins for the row comparison, which no existing pin exercised:
    • resolve-localization-fallback-row-reach.pin.test.ts: a filter-dropping engine with the NULL row stored first;
    • settings-organization-reach-memory.pin.test.ts: the in-memory store, with no query to filter.

Ablations. Each mutation ran through scripts/ablation-replace.mjs with an anchor that must hit. Each was restored to the HEAD blob with git diff HEAD empty. For the anchor ablation, core was rebuilt and ablation-dist-preflight proved the marker left dist/ and came back.

ablation of the exported predicate core plugin-auth guard plugin-security promotion service-settings
anchor: any organization's grant anchors 7 red 6 red 5 red —
reach: D9 derived read as unowned 3 red (1 is the fallback pin) — — 5 red
reach: own reach admits NULL rows 5 red (2 are the new fallback pin) — — 2 red (the new pin)

Proof (head 264c7ef59f, which is 40ac96aa merged with origin/main 54df640b38)

  • vitest:
    • core src/security/: 1080 pass; plus the new row-reach pin, 3/3.
    • service-settings: 984 / 984.
    • plugin-auth: 3525 pass, 10 skipped.
    • plugin-security: 4403 pass, 45 skipped.
  • typecheck: exit 0 for core, plugin-auth, service-settings and plugin-security.
  • eslint over the changed files: exit 0.
  • Full pnpm build: 76 / 76.
  • node scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs --commands: 74 derived, each exit code captured before any pipe. All 74 exit 0 at 40ac96aa, after git fetch --unshallow and a full build. The re-run on the merged head is reported in the os-dev-report on refactor(core, plugin-auth, service-settings): one definition each for the admin_full_access anchor predicate and the organization-reach rule, exported from core security and called by every reader that spells them today #25315.
  • check-governed-merges --branch: NOT governed, 0 of 12 paths. 814 changed lines (+694 / −120), not Tier H/S.
  • Upgrade harness (upgrade-18x-harness.dogfood.test.ts): 16 / 16. That covers the fixture-18.0 ceremony leg and the fixture-18.0.0 GA leg.
  • R1, fresh boot: a production os serve of the showcase on an empty store under single:
    • ready in 10 s, health 200;
    • sign-up 200, sign-in 200;
    • me/localization 200 (UTC / en-US);
    • me/permissions: the first user holds platform_admin / admin_full_access, so the promotion and the anchor work end to end.
  • R4, a walled production os serve (NODE_ENV=production, OS_PLATFORM_OWNER_EMAIL, invite-only, a 32-byte OS_SECRET_KEY), on an empty store:
    • isolated and group: each ready in 8 s, health 200, sign-up 200, sign-in 200, me/localization 200. The configured owner holds platform_admin.
    • isolated: PUT /api/settings/localization with Asia/Tokyo answered 200, and the next me/localization read answered Asia/Tokyo.
    • ⚠ For R4 only, @objectstack/organizations was added to the showcase locally. package.json and the lockfile were restored afterwards, and none of it is in the diff.

📓 Docs Drift Check

This PR changes 4 package(s): @objectstack/core, @objectstack/plugin-auth, @objectstack/plugin-security, @objectstack/service-settings, touching 30 documentable anchor(s).

5 hand-written doc(s) NAME something this change touched and may need an implementation-accuracy re-verification:

  • content/docs/data-modeling/drivers.mdx (via SettingsService (symbol, a top-level class))
  • content/docs/kernel/runtime-services/settings-service.mdx (via setMany (symbol, a method of class SettingsService))
  • content/docs/permissions/authorization.mdx (via registerLastAdminGuard (symbol, a top-level function))
  • content/docs/protocol/kernel/config-resolution.mdx (via SettingsService (symbol, a top-level class), setMany (symbol, a method of class SettingsService))
  • content/docs/protocol/kernel/index.mdx (via SettingsService (symbol, a top-level class))

⛔ 1 release-owned page(s) also name something this change touched. These are read-only:

  • content/docs/releases/v14.mdx (via setMany (symbol, a method of class SettingsService))

content/docs/releases/ is RELEASE-OWNED (AGENTS.md "Documentation Guardrails"): release
notes are written centrally at release time, and a code PR that edits them is the exact PR
that guardrail exists to stop. They are still audited — read-only. If one of them is actually
wrong, file an issue or open a dedicated docs-only PR; do not edit it here.

What this run could not see
  • 2 name(s) were too generic to anchor anything (single lowercase words)
  • the SDK route bridge reached 54 of 206 client-bound route-ledger rows — the other 152 have no registrar path: tail to select them, so pages documenting THEIR client methods cannot appear above, on this or any run. Of those 152: 0 are remediable by widening that discovery convention (an in-repo file declares the path; the convention did not scan it); 55 are structural — on a ledger where NOT ONE row is declared in-repo, so no discovery change reaches them at any price; 97 are undecided (no in-repo declaration, on a ledger that has other in-repo registrars — absence and an unreadable spelling are not distinguishable here). The rows themselves: node scripts/docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs --bridge-coverage
  • a page that states a rule by its inputs shares no identifier with the emitter that implements the rule, so an emitter-only diff cannot list it — not on this run and not on any run. Measured on fix(driver-sql): emit varchar(maxLength) for a text field a declared index keys on #11430: content/docs/protocol/objectql/types.mdx documents the text-family column mapping by the ObjectQL type names it maps FROM (text / textarea / html) while the diff changed createColumn; it went unlisted, and it was the page that diff falsified, in four places. No shared token exists to detect this on, so a rule your change carries has to be re-read by hand in the pages that restate it.
  • a key NAME is not a key, so the hand re-read the line above prescribes can land on the wrong schema. The same spelling is authorable on one governed type and a [REMOVED] tombstone on another for each of active, aria, joins, objects, template, tools and version (censused on [finding] tools is a key on BOTH AgentSchema (tombstoned, dead) and SkillSchema (live, cloud-attested), so a name-based search attributes skill examples to the agent key — it produced a false stop-the-line alarm on PR #19059 #19093 over the liveness ledger's governed types, top-level keys); nothing in a search result distinguishes the two, so a grep hit on a LIVE example reads as evidence about the DEAD key. Measured on fix(spec): the agent.tools liveness row says dead — it claimed live on a key the schema tombstoned #19059: content/docs/ai/agents.mdx was reported as contradicting the agent.tools tombstone over its tools: example at :161, which is inside the defineSkill({ block opened at :155 — the page was already correct. Settle ownership by PARSING the value against both schemas, never by the name: that literal PASSES SkillSchema, and as an AgentSchema it FAILS at tools with the tombstone prescription. ⛔ These names are not the whole class — a key retired through a .strict() guidance map leaves no tombstone in the walked shape and none of them here (tool.category, live as AIToolDefinition.category).

Coarse fallback — 48 page(s) merely mention a changed package (the pre-#9192 predicate, kept for the deliberately-wide backstop): node scripts/docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs --json 54df640b388c66153ba1e52c9ccc0082293358fa → packageMentionDocs.

Which tree this was computed on

This run read content/docs from 5f3f70cf433a4880b14993344b190dde6d0c976b — the merge of head 264c7ef59f163b75c02659b09e719298c059b0e8 into base 54df640b388c66153ba1e52c9ccc0082293358fa, which is what actions/checkout gives a pull_request run. Not the PR head.

A worktree cut from an older main holds a different content/docs, so re-deriving there can legitimately return a different list — that is a different tree, not a wrong row. To answer on the same tree:

# while this PR is open — GitHub drops the merge commit once it closes
git fetch origin 5f3f70cf433a4880b14993344b190dde6d0c976b && git checkout 5f3f70cf433a4880b14993344b190dde6d0c976b
# afterwards, rebuild it from the two parents, which stay fetchable
git fetch origin 54df640b388c66153ba1e52c9ccc0082293358fa 264c7ef59f163b75c02659b09e719298c059b0e8 && git checkout -B drift-repro 54df640b388c66153ba1e52c9ccc0082293358fa && git merge --no-ff 264c7ef59f163b75c02659b09e719298c059b0e8

node scripts/docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs --json 54df640b388c66153ba1e52c9ccc0082293358fa

⚠️ That checkout carried uncommitted changes, so the commit above does not fully identify what was read.

Advisory only, and a precision-first one (#9192): a page is listed because it names a
symbol, wire route or SDK method this diff touched — not because it mentions a changed
package. Each row says which anchor put it there, so a wrong row is reportable rather than
merely annoying. To re-verify, run the docs-accuracy-audit workflow scoped to these files:
node scripts/docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs 54df640b388c66153ba1e52c9ccc0082293358fa → pass the list as
args.docs, on the commit named under Which tree this was computed on.

Local-runs: none

Seat read on the declaration face. The PR declares Clause-②: yes (widening) (new core security exports), with no narrowing, no published schema and no governed path (0 of 12 paths). The read covers the net diff against main (12 files, +694 / −120), the measurement 6354428826, the seat's rulings on it and the claim amendment 6354903470, the os-dev-report 6356012837, and the check-runs on this head.

① Derived judgments

  1. The anchor rule, one definition: right, with no behaviour change.
    • The new export is organizationAnchorsPlatformStanding(grantOrganizationId, { walled, defaultOrganizationId }): false under a wall or with no Default Organization, else a non-null owner equal to the Default Organization's id.
    • Core (grantAnchorsPlatformStanding) passes grantOrganizationOf(grant), exactly as main compared it.
    • The last-administrator guard (anchorOwnerTest) passes its link owner over the simulated Default Organization. Main's !walled gate is now the predicate's walled; the answer is identical.
    • The promotion (isAnchorHumanHolder) passes a string-or-null owner and keeps its user_id !== SYSTEM exclusion. Under a wall main already passed an undefined Default Organization and returned early; the explicit walled flag states that, and the other caller passes walled: false with the same owner read as main.
  2. The organization-reach rule, one definition: right, with no behaviour change.
  3. Kept differences: A-1 and A-2 (the normalizers) and R-1 and R-2. Each is named at its call site, and each is the stricter reading in the reader that keeps it. No answer changes.
  4. Pins and ablation:
    • shared-predicate tables for both rules;
    • two new reader pins for the row predicate, which no existing pin exercised;
    • a diverged predicate reds every reader's pins, per the dev's ablation;
    • the existing pins of each reader are unchanged and green in CI.
  5. New public surface: the core security index exports the two predicate modules. These are pure functions with no state, read by in-repo readers.

② Semver level

  • Changeset: @objectstack/core, @objectstack/plugin-auth, @objectstack/plugin-security and @objectstack/service-settings at patch; Clause-②: yes (widening); Metadata-protocol: none; it says "no behaviour change".
  • yes (widening) is right: new exports from core's public security index, and nothing narrowed.
  • patch is right under the house rule. Check Changeset is success on this head.

③ Boundary flags

  • The third anchor copy, in bootstrap-platform-admin.ts, was folded under the claim amendment 6354903470. The file is not in PR plugin-security, plugin-sharing: at boot, the administrator is told when an upgrade renamed, removed or collided with an access choice (#24446 U1) #25311's diff, which has since merged.
  • R-1 and R-2 were not converged, as ruled. Converging them would be a semantic change for a card of its own, and none is wanted: both are fail-stricter where they stand.
  • Memoizing the localization fallback's sys_organization probe was optional and is not taken. It is bounded, and the ledger item 6353870843 is closed by this card's fold.
  • R1, R4 and the harness were measured by the dev on this head (see the ACCEPT). The labelled harness lane is success on this head.
